Workshop & International Seminar On “Women and the Earth”

To commemorate Kartini Day in 21 April and commemorate Earth Day in 22 April 2021, Rinjani-Lombok Geopark and partners will hold a series of event called ‘Workshop & International Seminar on Women and the Earth”

This event is a collaborative event and supported by IAGI Pengda NTB, STP Mataram, Governement of NTB Province, Mount Rinjani National Park, Government of East Lombok, SembaluNina, Berugak Lombok, Dewan SDA NTB, Komir NTB and Bike to Work Lombok.

AIMS & OBJECTIVE

• AIMS:
  1. Popularizing Conservation Efforts in Rinjani-Lombok Geopark and Biosphere Reserve area
  2. Improving the role of women in natural resources management
  3. Supporting the development of ecotourism and geotourism
• OBJECTIVE:
  1. 100 people are involved in the series of event
  2. at least 3 ecotour/geotour package (friendly for women) created
  3. form 15 new female geotour guides
  4. similar activities will be held in the following years

There are 4 sub events of Workshop & International Seminar on Women and the Earth:

1. WORKSHOP IN DIGITAL MARKETING
   Date: 4 April 2021
   Location: Kopi Key, Sembalun
   Output: redesign/ repackaging of products, MSME’s participants integrated with some online shop partners
   
2. DISCUSSION & SURVEY ABOUT THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE
   DEVELOPMENT OF GEOTRAIL IN GUMANTAR
   Date: 9 – 11 April 2021
   Location: Gumantar Traditional Village
   Output: draft of geotrail/ ecotrail, 100 betel nut tree seeds will be planted, commitment to involve and improve the role of women in development of Geotrail in Gumantar
   
3. GEOTOURISM INTERPRETATION TRAINING
   Date: 16 – 18 April 2021
   Location: Geosite of Sembalun
   Output: 15 new female geotour guides formed, 2 geotour package (women friendly) created, there will be certification of geotour guides in near future for the 15 new female geotour guides.
4. INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON WOMEN AND THE EARTH (HYBRID METHOD)
   Date: 22 April 2021
   Location: STP Mataram (main venue for offline event)
   Methode: Hybrid, offline participants max 50 people, online participants max. 100 people

   Output: 100 participants (offline & online) will be informed and shared about the opportunity, challenges and roles of women in managing natural resources, 5 best essays (or summary of event in instagram) will be appreciated, there is a follow up action in near future.
