This village is located in Lingsar District and is about 10 kilometer from Mataram City. This place is one of Muslim villages that have strong acculturation with Hinduism. Though the Islamic teaching in here came from reputable Islamic scholar in Bayan, North Lombok Regency, its culture isn’t far from what can be seen from common Hinduism. A ceremony called kikiran is a good example of it. Karang Bayan people call this ceremony as ngosokanwhich is a timewhen people’s teeth are evenly rasped. This ceremony comes together with rowahor gawebeleq ceremony. Karang Bayan Village is appointed to become cultural tourism village because of their heritage such as ancient mosque and traditional house used for meeting and conference.
